Chemical Peels
At Dr Home Aesthetics, we believe in treatments that enhance your skin’s health and radiance from the inside-out. Our chemical peels, using the Dermalogica professional range, are a key part of our regenerative approach - designed to renew the skin, improve texture and tone, and restore confidence in a natural way.

What are chemical peels?
Chemical peels use carefully selected acids or enzyme blends to lift away dull, damaged surface skin and stimulate renewal. They accelerate cell turnover, encourage collagen production, smooth texture and even skin-tone. Research shows that with modern professional peels you can achieve visible results with minimal downtime.

The Dermalogica Professional Peel Types We Use
We use the Dermalogica “Pro Power Peel” system which offers multiple customised options tailored to your skin’s needs.
Among these, the major types include:
-
Advanced Renewal Peel – A 30% glycolic acid peel, paired with rice-derived phytic acid and prickly-pear flower extract, to target fine lines, wrinkles and uneven tone.
-
PowerClear Peel – A multi-acid complex using salicylic, mandelic and malic acids (plus other actives) to treat blemishes, post-inflammatory pigmentation and oily/congested skin.
-
UltraBright Peel – A lactic-acid-based peel (around 30%) aimed at brightening dull skin, reducing pigmentation and improving radiance.
In practice, during your consultation we’ll determine the most suitable peel (or blend) for your skin concern, tone and downtime preference.
1. Consultation – Dr Home assesses your skin and selects the most appropriate peel type.
2. Preparation – The skin is cleansed and prepped for optimal absorption.
3. Peel application – A professional-grade peel is applied, which may be customised for you (based on skin type, concern, tolerance).
4. Neutralisation and aftercare – Depending on the peel type, your skin may require specific aftercare and protection.
5. Results – You may experience mild flaking or redness depending on depth; your skin will begin to look fresher, clearer and more luminous as you heal.

Frequently asked questions
Is there downtime?
It depends on the strength of the peel. Some options (more superficial) have minimal downtime, while deeper peels may result in mild peeling or redness for a few days. With the Dermalogica pro system, we choose according to your comfort and schedule.
Are these peels safe for all skin types?
Yes - when properly selected and administered by a qualified practitioner (like Dr Home) using professional products. A patch test may be advisable for very sensitive skin or if you have a history of skin conditions.
How many sessions will I need?
That varies. For mild texture or tone issues, a course of 2-3 peels spaced 2-4 weeks apart may suffice. For more advanced pigment or ageing concerns, a series of 4-6 may be recommended, followed by maintenance. The exact number will be advised in your consultation.
Can I combine a peel with other treatments?
Yes - one of the strengths of our clinic is combining treatments in a regenerative, holistic way. For example, a chemical peel may be followed by LED light therapy to reduce downtime, or paired with microneedling for enhanced effect. We’ll coordinate this to suit your skin’s needs.
What after-care is needed?
We’ll provide tailored after-care instructions. Generally, you’ll need to protect your skin with SPF, avoid sun exposure, use gentle skincare, and may need to skip strong active ingredients (e.g. retinoids, exfoliants) for a short period.
